Tool Storage Buyer’s Guide

Gladiator® Classic Series Tool Storage is the place to start organizing your ever-growing tool collection. And it's modular, meaning as your collection grows, you can easily add Chests and Roll-Aways as you need them.

What do I need from my tool storage?
In addition to a toolbox or bag for specific jobs, you'll need a combination of Roll-Aways and Chests. If you have a broad tool collection, like many homeowners, you should consider a Roll-Away and Chest like those in the Gladiator® Classic Series. Bigger collections with more frequent use, like those of professionals or heavy DIYers need the accessibility and durability offered by Gladiator® Premier Series and Gladiator® Premier Series Wide.

 

What kind of tools do I own?
Take a good look at the tools you plan to store. If you have longer tools, consider a Gladiator® Premier Series Tool Chest or Premier Series Roll-Away. If your collection consists mostly of standard-sized tools and supplies with afew larger or oddly shaped items, the Gladiator® Classic Series is probably yourbest bet.

 

How will I use my tool storage?
Those who work a lot in the garage or workshop will find that a Roll-Away is a"must have". If you're just storing a smaller tool collection, combining
different-sized Gladiator® Chests might fit your needs.

 

Where will my tool storage be situated?
When considering what tool storage to choose, accurately gauge the amount of space you have for it. Use a Roll-Away for limited space areas and use the top as a work surface. A greater amount of space offers you
the flexibility to configure your tool storage area with a combination of Roll-Aways and Chests.

 

How will I grow my tool collection?
Consider how you plan on expanding your tool collection before you purchaseyour tool storage. It's best to always "buy a little more than you need". What's "load rating"?
Load rating is determined by adding the weight of the product(s) and the combined weight of the tools stored inside. The load rating for a combination of tool storage items is equal to the load rating of the item serving as the base. For example, the load rating for an Intermediate Tool Chest resting atop a Roll-Away is the same as the Roll-Away alone.
