The Auto Show at McCormick Place is the place to dream about what car (or SUV or truck) you would like to see in your garage. But what does your garage look like?
Even if there is not a new car in your immediate future, it might be time to think about where you are parking the one you have. First of all, can you get it into your garage? Or is your garage so cluttered and disorganized that you are parking in your driveway instead? If you are parking in the garage, is the clutter endangering your car? What if something stored next to your car falls over … or something stored above falls down?
The answer might be to win a garage makeover. The Garage Store is teaming with The Daily Herald during this year’s Auto Show for their second annual Garage Makeover Giveaway. Contestants should first clear out the major clutter and throw away the garbage, then take a photo of the space and write a short description of how an organized garage would transform their lives. Besides the grand prize, three “runners up” will receive an overhead storage rack, valued at $450.
Owner, Jim Melchert knows that adding some elements of Feng Shui and organization definitely improves the lives of homeowners, who often write glowing testimonials about his work. He is delighted to once again showcase his work with this Makeover contest, and says that “This year I would like to resurface someone’s garage floor and add a decorative coating to make it look brand new. I will design a wall and cabinet system for organization and overhead storage racks for max storage.”
